The excitement and magic of Christmas is just around the corner and you can’t beat sitting by a real Christmas tree eating mince pies. But when Christmas is over, it does feel like a bump back to reality to drag your Christmas tree out of the house, load it into your car and drive it to your local tip. Surely there’s a better solution…
We’ve teamed up with Bluebell Woods Children’s Hospice to recycle your Christmas tree and raise money for this wonderful charity. For a suggested minimum donation of £10 per household tree, they will come and collect your tree (up to 8ft) and bring it to us. We will recycle it in an environmentally friendly way – we will chip the trees and turn the chippings into compost. The compost can be used to grow new Christmas trees and some of it will even be used at the hospice in their own gardens.
Collections will take place week commencing 4th January 2021 in the following areas:
- Sheffield
- Chesterfield
- Barnsley
- Rotheram
- Worksop
“As an organic waste and biomass recycling operator, Envar are committed to the sustainable processing of green waste. This ‘Recycle your Christmas tree’ initiative is a great opportunity to recycle Christmas trees in a sustainable way and raise money for the Bluebell Woods Children’s Hospice at the same time. Donations will raise vital funds for this incredible hospice and their young patients while the Christmas trees will be recycled to create compost to enhance future plant growth.”
“We look forward to recycling the Christmas trees at our Chesterfield Composting Facility.” Andy Sibley, Managing Director, Envar Composting
