We also provide arb chip or “wet” chip with varying moisture levels to suit customer requirements.
We supply power stations, horticulture and customers operating commercial size biomass boilers with quality wood chip fuel.
The provenance of wood is very important to us and we work closely with businesses in the arboriculture industry, from small independent businesses to large commercial organisations as well as the forestry and organics sectors.
The Heathcote Holdings group of companies currently own and operate three biomass boilers utilising both woodchip and straw as fuel sources, therefore we recognise the necessity to keep a homogeneous supply to maintain optimum boiler efficiency.
Biomass – a renewable energy source
Biomass is a renewable energy source which is generated from burning virgin wood chip.
It is considered a renewable form of energy production as biomass growth removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and stores it in the soil, plants or trees. Additionally, the natural material is being replaced whereas fossil fuels are a limited resource.
The biomass production process releases much less carbon dioxide (CO2) when burned compared to fossil fuels.
We understand that customers’ requirements can fluctuate greatly.
Envar have an in depth knowledge of the biomass market requirements including:
- The seasonality
- Logistics of delivering the material
- Timely deliveries
- Moisture level requirements
